About Center

The Center for Polish Language and Culture (CJPiKP)

 is a university-wide organizational unit of the University of Zielona Góra. CJPiKP is directly subordinated to the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Educational Quality. CJPiKP is led on the basis of applicable regulations, in particular, on the basis of the Law of July 20, 2018. - Law on Higher Education and Science (i.e., Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, as amended; hereinafter referred to as the Law ) and the Statute of the University of Zielona Góra.

 To the primary tasks of CJPiKP belong

  • organizing and conducting research and didactic activity in the field of Polish studies glottodidactics including the teaching of Polish language as foreign and second on every level of language as well as teaching foreigners about polish culture,
  • organizing and supporting Polish Philology Institute in organizing and conducting didactic activity - training teachers of polish language as foreign,
  • certifying the knowledge of foreign languages, including Polish language as foreign also for the candidates for studies at the University of Zielona Góra and for others - on the basis of internal examination (before the university committee) or external examination: state exams in Polish as a foreign language, The European Language Certificates (TELC) and others - according to the qualifications held by the university,
  • promoting Polish language and culture by means of project and didactic activities in the region and in media, including social media through the use of Facebook page “Kurs języka polskiego dla cudzoziemców na Uniwersytecie Zielonogórskim”.

 Primary didactic activity of CJPiKP is expressed by conducting classes:

  • on Polish language as foreign for the students of Zielona Góra University,
  • additional dydactic activity in the form of professional development courses (paid and free) and project classes.

 CJPiKP carries out its undertakings in the following forms:

  • teaching Polish language foreigners, also, by means of professional development courses, takes place in stationary form or, if necessary, hybrid one as well as online,
  • testing and certifying the knowledge of Polish language for candidates for studies can be done stationary or online,
  • The state certification examinations in Polish as a foreign language and TELC exams are conducted stationary,
  • postgraduate studies are taking place according to the postgraduate studies regulations.

 CJPiKP cooperates with internal and external stakeholders. Internal stakeholders are employees of Polish Filology Institute, Neofilology Institute, UCKJ and University Library. External stakeholders are e.g. ZTE “Civilitas”, Zielona Góra ODN, Voivodeship Labour Office, Municipal Social Welfare Centre and Medical Council.
