TELC – The European Language Certificates – is a system of examinations created on the basis of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages of the Council of Europe.

It was developed and is administered by the non‑profit organization WBT (Weiterbildungs‑Testsysteme GmbH – later telc GmbH), a member of ALTE – the Association of European Organizations granting internationally recognized language certificates. TELC certificates are developed according to the Common European Framework of Reference and comply with the requirements of this system.
